Shri Sushil Kumar Shinde unveils Special Cover to commemorate
21 years of Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital
Mumbai, 30 August, 11: Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital, one of the finest hospitals for eye care was felicitated with a special cover by the Department of Post and Telegraph for its 21 years of excellent service in vision care and positive contribution towards the society. The special cover was unveiled by Shri. Sushil Kumar Shinde, Minister of Power, Govt. of India at Mumbai.
The event witnessed participation from dignitaries like Dr. Sri Prakash, Vice Chancellor, Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, Ms. Abha Singh, Director Postal Services, General Post Office, Mumbai, Padmashree Prof. Dr. T. P. Lahane, Dean of The JJ Hospital and Grant Medical College, Mumbai, Prof. Dr. K. Ananda Kannan, Dean Emeritus, Aditya Jyot Institute of Vision Sciences and Research, Dr. D. K. Speaking on the occasion Prof. Dr. S. Aditya Jyot Eye bank is a 24 hrs active eye bank located at the Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital, Wadala. Ms. Aishwarya Rai had inaugurated the Eye bank on the 1st of August 2004. Today, a qualified team of Doctors and Medical personnel from Aditya Jyot eye bank go and collect donated eyes round the clock and have so far collected over 50 eyes last year. Eyes are then sent to a coordination center for processing and distribution.
