Mumbai, 1st August 2011: Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital, a renowned eye hospital in Mumbai
celebrated its 21st Anniversary on 31st July 2011. To commemorate this special event
the hospital organized a live surgery workshop - “The Ophthalmic Convene” on High
Speed Vitrectomy & Modern Ophthalmic Surgery under the Aegis of the Maharashtra
Ophthalmological Society at SNDT Auditorium, Matunga from 9am to 4.30pm. The event was
co-organized by Narayana Nethralaya,Bangalore & M. N. Eye Hospital, Chennai.
The workshop included Didactic Lectures on recent advances in refractive surgeries conducted
by Dr. Rohit Shetty Cornea & Refractive Surgeon from Narayana Nethralaya, Bangalore. Live
surgeries included High Speed Vitrectomy for vitreoretinal diseases by world renowned Vitreo
Retinal Surgeon Prof. Dr. S.Natarajan & Dr. Aditya Kelkar. Other highlights included Modern
corneal surgeries like DSEK by renowned Cornea Specialist Dr. J. S. Titiyal and advanced squint
Surgery by Dr. Milind Killedar. The event had Dr. T. P. Lahane, as the Chair person and Dr.
Milind Killedar as the Co-Chairperson, the Chief Discussants were Dr P.N. Nagpal, Dr. S.
B.Kelkar. CME Credit points were awarded to the delegates & faculty members by Maharashtra
Medical Council.
