Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital is Celebrating 20th Anniversary this year. 9th International Advanced Vitreo Retinal Surgery Course (9th IAVRSC) was organized by Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital, Mumbai, India in association with St. Eriks Eye Hospital, Karolinska Institutet, Stockholm, Sweden on 18th & 19th September 2010 at Stockholm, Sweden. This meeting received European Accredition Council for continuing Medical Education (EACCME) Accredition of 11 Points. Aditya Jyot is the only institute in India to have European accreditation for a conference. Both Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital and St Eriks Eye Hospital are celebrating their 20 years of existence. IAVRSC Conference was granted reciprocal recognition by Maharashtra Medical Council (MMC).
The conference was attended by Dr. S. Natarajan & Dr. Arindam Chakravarti from AJEH. The conference was attended by World famous Retinal specialists like Dr. Stefan Seregard, Dr. Manoj Kakar, Dr. Irene Barbazetto, Dr. Pran Nagpal, Dr. Geeta Menon, Dr. Sveltlana Solonia, Prof. Dr. Gisbert Richard, Dr. Lalit Verma, Dr. Dhananjay Shukla, Dr. Joerg C. Schmidt, Dr. Vincenzo Ferrara, Dr. Emma Friling & ISMSICS Faculty members were Dr. Amulya Sahu, Prof. Dr. Arjun Ahuja, Dr. Nita Shanbag, Dr. Shanta A. Motwane & Dr. Satya Prakash Singh.
The conference was real success. We are now in process of publishing a book which will contain topics like changing surgical approach to diabetic retinopathy, Current trends in Management of Diabetic Maculopathy, Wet ARMD, Artificial Retina, Gene Therapy, Advances in surgical approach in treatment of various Vitreo-Retinal diseases, current trends in Management of Ocular tumors etc. Along with the book CD which will be launched this will contain 100 VR surgeries done at AJEH.
